Not every student connects with music education in the same way. Plug N Play Academy introduces students to music through technology and a format they already recognize from the world around them.
Instead of only learning how to operate DJ equipment, students learn how music works while developing creativity, confidence, discipline, communication, and technical ability. Our goal is to make learning music feel relevant, hands-on, challenging, and exciting.
A Progression, Not A Crash Course.
Students develop skills in a structured sequence — similar to learning an instrument or mastering a craft.
LEVEL 1 — LISTEN
Students begin by understanding rhythm, tempo, counting beats, song structure, and active listening.
LEVEL 2 — CONTROL
Students learn how DJ equipment works and develop coordination using decks, mixers, cueing, EQ, and headphones.
LEVEL 3 — MIX
Students begin beatmatching, transitioning between songs, controlling energy, and understanding how songs work together.
LEVEL 4 — CREATE
Students experiment with music selection, effects, creative transitions, programming, and developing their own style.
LEVEL 5 — PERFORM
Students learn preparation, confidence, presentation, recovering from mistakes, reading an audience, and performing a complete DJ set.
LEVEL 6 — GROW
Connect the skills learned behind the decks to real life: practice, discipline, patience, confidence, communication, teamwork, problem solving, responsibility, and professionalism.
